A new face has joined the Wragg Mark-Bell line-up, bringing a wealth of experience and a focus on staff development.
Rebecca Ferris is the latest recruit at our firm, taking on the role of operations manager in July – a position previously held by managing director Nick Kennon.
Previously working for another city solicitors’ firm for nine years in a similar role, Rebecca is particularly excited to join Wragg Mark-Bell.
“It’s a firm that really wants to look after their staff,” she said. “The benefits are extremely good for a private business, but there’s a warmth here that I’ve lacked in other roles.”
With a background in estate agency – as a negotiator, valuer and branch manager – and then in various staff management roles, this new position will draw upon all her experience.
From the outset, Rebecca’s primary focus will be on supporting the staff and senior management team, helping ensure good internal communication and professional development opportunities.
“I also want to focus on the staff themselves, and make Wragg Mark-Bell somewhere people want to spend their careers,” she explained. “I’m looking for internal staff development and opportunities for the team.
“When I’m recruiting I look for someone who has that spark: the desire to progress. That’s how you develop good staff.”
As well as this, Rebecca will be pulling together all operational products and protocols, covering everything from general office maintenance and health and safety to HR.
She is also currently focusing on processes in the conveyancing side of the business.
“That’s grown quite significantly over the past three years, so we need to ensure our procedures stay robust,” she said.
“We also deal with a lot of referral agencies – whether that’s estate agents or mortgage brokers – so there’s a relationship to manage to ensure they continue to trust us with their clients.
“I want to ensure we’re as responsive as we can be and focus on building and growing our relationships.”
Managing director Nick Kennon added: “We are absolutely delighted to have welcomed Rebecca to the team. She comes with vast experience and is already having an impact within weeks of joining.
“I look forward to how she can help us continue to develop and thrive.”
Away from work Rebecca enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her young daughters – camping and going to festivals.
